How it started

The journey began with a bunch of teenage friends riding their bikes out in the woods, filming each other on the very first GoPro 960. What to us was the best hobby in the world quickly became more serious. Our newly founded collective of riders and creatives soon allowed us to travel Europe, creating content and short films highlighting gear for bike brands like PIVOT, VOTEC and MERIDA.

How it took off

I continued working as boom operator and sound mixer on factual productions for German state television. That’s where I gained a lot of insight into other lifestyles, cultures and people. And got more into storytelling. Cinematography got me hyped, so I quickly found myself shooting experimental films with friends at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

Also I worked as Rental Technician at a established Camera Rental in Stuttgart. After my state degree in Audiovisual Mediadesign I was soon asked as to put my technical experience into action on both commercial and feature film sets as 1st AC and Spark.

Where it’s going

Since then my creative streak and open mindset are always pushing me to go one step further. For me, it’s the love of framing unique stories in natural and urban settings alike. Nothing makes me happier than dramatic purple skies, creative lighting and symmetries. You could also say it’s the love for the game. Whether framing stories in commercials, branded content and action sports as Cinematographer myself or supporting other DoPs on their mission with my special eye and thoughts as AC.

Born and raised in southern Germany, my passion for the outdoors, mountain biking and snowboarding brought me to the probably most beautiful place on earth: The Sea to Sky area just north of Vancouver, BC.
